Ben Nevis today with Dry rock and covered in powder. Although I expected there to be powder I thought there may be some ice in the cracks we approached the South west ridge of the Douglas boulder and were just beaten to the route. Unfortunately one of the pair took a 10m lob back to his belayer. So we had at the route to the right of west gully but it was banked up with powder and I sank up to my chest. So we ran up west gully and I lowered the guys down to the other side of the DB to be met by others packing it in later. Stunning day but not great for product.
